Throughout Tim's veterinary career he has always been attracted to exotic and wildlife species with the extra challenges they bring. Never without some kind of small mammal when young and breeding Lovebirds as a teenager, he has never been far away from the more unusual species. He has worked around the country in exotic focused practices dealing with pets as well as providing veterinary services to local zoos and animal collections. In 2005 he studied for an MSc in Wild Animal Health at the Royal Veterinary College and Institute of Zoology. This stimulated his interest in research and lead to him study a PhD in Wildlife Epidemiology at the University of Liverpool, investigating the transmission of squirrel pox between red and grey squirrels.
After a brief foray into academia, Tim has returned to clinical work and is currently studying for his Advanced Veterinary Practice Certificate in Zoological Medicine. In his rare spare time he can be found renovating his old house or under his VW T25 campervan, while also spending time with his animal and human family.
